I’ve had my fair share of countless dungeon runs for specific drops and sometimes never ever getting what I run for, for example a decent wand upgrade for my Mage. However the other night Blizzard treat me well with not only the best night for item drops but one of the best Herioc runs I’ve ever done.
To kick start the love I ran Lost City of the Tol’vir specifically. When after particular items I prefer to run the dungeons I need then go random in hope to get them again if I didn’t get the item the first time. One of my rings was only 333 while the other was a rep vendor ring at 346, both still upgradeable. I came here to get my self the Veneficial Band but was happy when the Spirit Creeper Ring dropped from the first boss. Both decent upgrades, both dropping in the same run, and both going to ME!
On a high I then moved onto Halls of Origination where I had done a couple of runs in hope for Blood of Isiset as my one of my trinkets was still a green from quests and the other a decent 346 but DPS orientated. Whilst here though I was blessed not only a 200k+ tank who had took down all the current raid bosses and needed minimal healing but also a DPS group full of casters that pumped out a crazy amount of DPS and needed no upgrades. I was happy to get myself the herioc version of my current Soul Releaser as well as the Solar Wind Cloak both items I had forgot to put on my wish list. Needless to say after the times I’ve felt hard done by, this night of sheer love made it all worth it!
Adlanna dings 85
Last night I managed to hit 85 with Adlanna after a fairly easy stroll. After I got Wizzam kitted up in 346 gear for raiding I soon began dabbling on my 60 priest. It wasn’t long before I grew quite attached and wanted to play her more and more becoming quite fond of a healing role. Soon after I had reached Cataclysm content and within 2-3 weeks I now have her level capped. Now I just need to round up a few more to try and re-maintain a trend that was beginning to form.
When I first started playing WoW my first level capped character was Wizzam (or Poncho before my first realm change) at level 60. After capping him again at 70 when TBC was released I began on my rogue Tynee who hit 70 only weeks before WotLK was released. So 1 capped in Vanilla, 2 capped in TBC I had hoped for 3 capped in WotLK but the trend stopped there. I only managed to get Wizzam capped a couple of month before Cata and at this moment Tynee has been shelved since I began that cap.
If the mountain didn’t appear to be so steep I would love to drive myself to get Tynee capped at 85 with Wizzam and Adlanna as well as maybe bring Deewon my DK up to 85 along with either my Warlock, Warrior, Paladin or curveball Druid to get 4 capped for this 3rd expansion.
Last night I managed to polish off the last of my Northrend dungeons and finish a few quests in K3 to ding the al infamous level 80. It was getting late and I had been playing my priest quite a bit recently so I didn’t get far into level 80 however I did manage to complete a couple of Mount Hyjal quests to begin upping my stamina and replacing my now pretty useless heirloom gear.
I’ll probably take a little bit of a brake from her for now to allow myself to get a chunk of rested exp in order to make the 80-85 walk more of a jog.
Recently I’ve started playing WoW alot again, I’ve never really shy’d away from it just haven’t played it enough to generate content for my blog. My mage has been shelved since I missed the first raiding boat after spending more time playing CSS competitively which is still my first choice in killing free time. However a couple of Saturdays ago my mate came round to keep me company 😉 and we both decided to dust off some old level 60s to dungeon queue together.
He tanked with his Night Elf Warrior while I began to get excited about healing, unfortunately the drive didn’t last long as healing can get verrrrry empty in lower dungeons. Never-less, after the night was up I still had a yearn to go back on. For a few hours each night I found myself running a dungeon or so for my little fix. Before I knew it I had hit 70 leaving my friend behind at 65. Things really began to start getting exciting with the need for constant attention if I wished to keep my group alive.
Other than my healer getting me re-addictive my girlfriend managed to convince me to start a goblin. We spent the best part of one afternoon levelling them up and out of the starting zone but there must be some sort of barrier with me and the horde as its another character to add to under level 15 and never played again pile.
Yeyyy I hit 85 last night. Just over a week since I started on Cataclysm, playing a little more than casual, completed on the coast of Uldum.
Didn’t get much chance to gear up afterwards due to my average iLvl being 319, 9 under the requirement for Heroics. I think next time I’m online I’ll make a start on Tol Barad dailies for the stone drake as well as finishing up the quests in Uldum and then make a start on Twighlight for hopefully better gear, all while sitting in random dungeon queues 😛 Got it all planned, just need the time 🙁 Well with Christmas almost upon us I’ve got just over a week off work so shouldn’t be a problem.
It’s been pretty quiet for me in World of Warcraft recently. With limited time I haven’t been able to take part in any raids, and I’ve got the best gear outside ICC after the Justice Point conversion so farming heriocs doesn’t get me anything but gems. However I eventually managed to get round to leveling a little bit on my Paladin. Well I say levelling, what I’ve really been doing is running 2 clients logged into 2 accounts both with RaF one on follow looting mobs as my girlfriend runs us countless times through Scholomance. I can safely say I am now sick of that place. After being ran through 58-60 on my DK and then again 45-60 on my Paladin, I don’t think I want to go back there for a loooong time. As a plus I did managed to farm stacks of runecloth higher than the eye can see, but that all went to my girlfriend to flog as payment for enduring the runs. We never saw the mount drop from Baron Rivendare which was a shame but at least its over for now.
After hitting 60 on both characters we hearthed back over to Ironforge where a couple of people were waiting for their rewards. Namely my priest Adlanna, my warlock Elipsis and druid Elryn who got the scraps. With them all boosted up with rewarded levels, my total character collection now consists of: 80 Mage, 80 Rogue, 61 Warrior, 60 Deathknight, 60 Paladin, 60 Priest, 60 Warlock and a 9 Druid. The druid will probably end up getting deleted and re-rolled in Cataclysm, but for now she can sit their as a name holder.
Now I’ve managed to get my characters up I have a plethora of work to do with all the extra options. Tynee has been shelved til I get round to level 85 PvP and Wizzam is just waiting on time to raid / level to 85. Now I have my priest up I’ll get to work on leveling her Tailoring to provide some cheaper bags for my characters, may not level her til after Cataclysm though. Rommli, my paladin is going to become my farmer. With the extra mount speed I’ll get to work on leveling his mining and herblism before taking him through Outland. I want to get him leveled up as much as possible before Cataclysm as he’s the only non-squishy character I’ve rolled and want him strong enough to help out friends for all the help they’ve given me over the years. Unfortunately that means a majority of this blog will now be filled with his progress, which isn’t very squishy, but 1 out of 5 main characters, its still a squishy based blog 😛
Quiet times on my World of Warcraft account recently. Without the push to need to log on for my Argent dailies then I don’t feel like logging on for either my daily HC or JC and Cooking quests either. At the minute the only reason I log on are raids and every morning to scan the AH for price updates.
However this weekend I managed to get a start on Glory of the Ulduar Raider to get my first 310% mount which is by far the best looking drake in the game! Last week I joined in with my guild on the end of a Uldaar HM run. I managed to part-take in taking down General Vezax but after countless wipes on Yogg we called it a night. Going back in last night we went straight for Yogg, I think it was an extended lockout but either way 5 wipes in we eventually nailed it with an amazing try. All though we lost a chunk of players early into phase 3 we managed to down him pretty fast. Moving over to Razorscale in 2 tries we grabbed Iron Dwarf, Medium Rare whilst I boxed my way up to 400 unarmed.
So a couple of achievements this week, most of the run grabbing their last few achievements for their mounts and the others beginning the trek. I think after the Wed/Thur ICC run there will be another Uldaar run organised for the ones that missed out / original’s alts to grab the rest of the achievements and all get their hands on the sexy Reins of the Ironbound Proto-Drake.
I haven’t blogged much over the last few days but I’ve been busy busy on WoW. We’ll start with friday night, my guilds ICC25 alt run where they take undergeared characters such as my mage, Wizzam. Last week I was lucky enough to grab a heroic ring and necklace, this run I got my hands on a Vanquishers mark of Santification, which coupled with the 108 frost collection I reached after the run I was able to buy the Bloodmage Robe and instantly upgrade to Sanctified Bloodmage Robe before gemming and enchanting. I also managed to get my hands on Shoulders of Mercy Killing, so again not a bad week 🙂 a few steps closer to being strong enough to take down LK.
Also this weekend I got round to making a new alt. I went for a paladin and named him Rommli. We did a little leveling on the Friday before my raid and some more on the Sunday. Have only managed level 21 from a few quests and Deadmine runs, but in no hurry as I have til Cata to get him to 60 which shouldn’t take too long. As well as levelling him, I eventually gave my Deathknight another shot and got him from 56-60, slowly tidying all my characters up to at least 60.
Finally to round my weekend off I caught the start of Brewfest. I’m not really that bothered about getting all the world events on all my characters so Wizzam is going to taking this on. I’ve decided trying to raid with 2 characters isn’t really that viable so Tynee is going to get shelved from now til sometime in Cata. Wizzam will become my end-game character as he was in TBC where as Tynee will become my PvP character to spend most of his time in Battlegrounds and ganking PvE’ers waiting for dungeons.
Back to Brewfest, I was quite surprised that me and a couple of my friends managed to do all the achievements within about 30mins as most events take quite a while. The only one I have left is the dance in Dalaran and brew of the month/year which will only take a few days farming the tokens. I am hoping for the Kodo mount, and fingers crossed I get as lucky as this guy on the first day [image]. I already have the Halloween achievements on Wizzam so come October he’s going to get a little bored but I’ll be able to spend time on my other characters cleaning up their levels and professions in preparation for Cataclysm.
After many weeks of nipping around Dalaran almost every visit as well as between randoms Wizzam has eventually learnt every book Daralan has to offer. I only popped on this morning to scan the AH with my bank character but had time to jump over to Wizzam and check for the last book. Low and behold I reached the top of the Violet Citadel steps and there was a book sitting there. I have checked this place many times before and came across two books in its spot that weren’t the one I needed so didn’t get my hopes up but after hovering my heart skipped a beat as I ran over to give it a read.
Achievement earned, unsure on what to do next I noticed I had mail from Rhonin. He had sent me a book which upon use teleported me up to the top of a tower where a lonely wizard handed me a new pet for showing him my new book.
Wizzam with his Kiron'Tor Familar
Haven’t been up to much on World of Warcraft lately, been having loads of issues with my motherboard accepting my new RAM. Managed to get it working tonight however it won’t remain stable so had to revert back to my old RAM for now til I’ve got time to mess around.
Managed enough time to complete my Argent Tournament dailies though aswell as farm a few HCs for emblems and honor before my guild pulled me into an OB25 3D. Was ezymode with the amount of gear we all had, in and out, job done in minutes. Its looking like Tynee might get left behind, I think I may end up reverting back to my TBC idea in Cata. Gearing up Wizzam for PvE and if end-game cata is anything like WotLK then just farm emblems and honor for Tynee’s PvP gear for the rated Battlegrounds.
If I manage to get my RAM sorted sooner rather than later then I’ll be looking to get my hands on some recording and editing software to fill my new YouTube channel :).
