My current most played game is League of Legends. However I do dabble in the odd game of Fifa, Counterstrike, Minecraft and GTA. Along with gaming, my other hobbies include Trampolining, Football and Road Cycling.
Just picked myself up this game after looking at a few trailers and videos.
Yet to play it though as only just convinced the other half to split costs with me. At the moment you can pick it up for just over £15 and get two copies, so that is about £8 each. Its basically just a turn based strategy game similar to Rainbow 6’s early days. You set waypoints and actions for your team and then let your opponent take their turn. There is a single player campaign as well as online multiplayer.
My Warcraft books came this morning from Amazon, not bad for super saver delivery from a late Tuesday night.
My Warcraft Books
The books include ‘The Shattering’ (what happened in the lead up to Cataclysm), ‘Arthus’ (the story behind how he came to be), ‘Rise of the Horde’ (self explanatory really) and Lord of the Clans (Thralls back-story). They are all the Warcraft books I could find by Christie Golden that interested me, I’ve heard nothing but good things about her writing after her big hit with ‘The Shattering’.
I wouldn’t class myself as a big lore buff, but I am interested in the lore behind World of Warcraft, enough to have read the lore on the website…twice. I just like getting a little more depth from the game. Its great to walk into somewhere and get that extra feeling of understanding. Hard to explain but erm… like when I run Old Hillsbrad Foothills and at the end you stumble across Tabatha. *SPOILER* When I read the lore I learnt about Thralls past love and how after escaping from Durnholde Keep Tabatha’s head was chopped off and thrown as his feet when he returned etc etc.*SPOILER* Like Turpser mentions on TheInstance, its nice when you come across characters or items and be like oh thats him/her/that thing from that time when that thing happened! (even though other players are like, mate it just looks like that other one over there =).
Yesterday I had a little chat about the upcoming patch 4.0.3a which will shatter Azeroth and change the world as we’ve known it from all the way back to 2004. For those of you unsure on what will be happening next week, here is a quick run down:

New Gnome/Troll starting areas
Changes to existing zones
New cata load screens
New cata intro cinematic
New cata login screen

Druids, paladins, priests, and shaman will have their talent trees reset
Experience required to gain levels 71 through 80 is being reduced by 20%
New tamable hunter pets (Monkey, fox, dog, and beetle, as well as new skins for existing pet classes.)
Yesterday Blizzard announced that they are revamping the whole emblem, token, shard etc system for buying rewards and replacing it all with points.
Emblems of Triumph and Emblems of Frost become Justice Points.
All other emblems and badges are converted into gold, including BC-level badges.
All PvP currencies (current Honor Points, Arena Points, Marks of Honor, Stone Keeper’s Shards, etc.) will become the new Honor Points.
While there is a cap on new currencies in Cataclysm, that cap is being ignored for the purpose of the initial conversion. You just won’t be able to earn anything beyond the cap if you’re over it initially. This will then change shortly before Cataclysm is released, cutting off all currencies to the hard cap, with excess points being converted to gold.
The new currencies are;
Justice Points Low-tier, easy-to-get PvE points that will buy gear (like Emblems of Triumph are now)
Valor Points High-tier, harder-to-get PvE points that will buy gear (like Emblems of Frost are now)
Honor Points Low-tier, easy-to-get PvP points that will buy PvP gear (like normal Honor Points are now)
Conquest Points High-tier, harder-to-get PvP points that will buy PvP gear (like Arena Points are now)
The exact measurements of the conversion are going to be released later this afternoon by Blizzard so I’ll update that when in happens. In the mean time you better get back into those random dungeons as those emblems you thought would just be worthless will now count towards your justice points or could be downgraded to award you gold come Cataclysm.
